The Purpose
Today has been a very thought filled day. I’m sitting outside looking at the beautiful sunset in 95 degree heat with birds flying and chirping all around me. I’m blessed to be able to be here in Africa. All day long, I am reminded of how much Jesus Christ loves me and everywhere I look, I see proof of HIS love. I only wish the people here in Niger and the lost people of the whole world could see that Jesus Christ loves them and is helping them even though they do not know it yet. But that is why I am here isn’t it? Why? Jesus created me and he planned the calling for my life. Jesus knew I would be here in Niger for 9 months before I was even formed in my momma’s belly (Jeremiah 1:5). I couldn’t have planned it myself and I definitely couldn’t have made it in my life by myself. Many people I know thought I would not make it here in Niger. They were right, I did not make it by myself, Jesus Christ was there in front of me leading and guiding each step. He is my strength, my hope and the source of my happiness. When I was sick, he sent people to care for me. When I cried at night, he was there comforting me by the power of the Holy Spirit and HIS word. When I am doubtful, he fills my life with hope. When I become discouraged, he pushes me to see the power of HIS hand. My God is amazing and awesome! And you know what? he could be your GOD too if he isn’t already. One day we will all see Jesus Christ on the throne in heaven and what will you say to Jesus Christ then? This was the intro to my blog so here goes the start.
Why were you born? Why were you born in the place you were born in? Why were you born into the family that you were? Why were you born the oldest or the youngest? What is your purpose? While I can’t give you all those answers, I can simply say that JESUS planned your life, he knew the reason for those questions. You were born for the purpose of worshipping, serving, loving, and praising Jesus Christ. And if we do all of those things then when he tells us to do something, we don’t have to ask why, where or how, we should just obey because we love JESUS CHRIST. We trust the ones we love, right? Some people (including myself) have a hard time trusting people completely. But does that mean we don’t love them completely? My husband always said trust and love go together, and you can’t have one without the other. More questions to think about: Do you trust anyone completely? Did you get hurt? I can probably answer that question for you…..YES…..why? Because earthly people will let us down and hurt us, do not believe me then read Psalms146:3. Jesus Christ will never let us down but we frequently let him down. We frequently ignore his gentle calling and leading and go back to OUR lives. Who gave you life? Jesus Christ, therefore shouldn’t we be willing and obedient to the calling he has placed before us in our life? Why would you think you know more about how to run your life than the one who created you?
THE PAST: I can ask these questions because I myself thought I could control my own life and make it perfect…..ha ha ha ha ha….yeah I look back on some of the past moments and truly wish I could click the delete key and that stupid moment be gone……BUT life doesn’t work that way. There is not an “ignore” key. There is not a backspace or delete key…you have to live with the choices and decisions that you make in your life forever. So why not trust and follow Jesus Christ and then you won’t have any regrets? Running from Jesus Christ will only leave you will more regrets and pain….so stop running away and run toward Jesus…..The world can’t fix anything. You will be sadder and more miserable if you keep living in the world and one day, (just like me) you will wake up and realize what an idiot you have been or you may wake up one day before the throne of God and then it’s too late. So many people always say they know Jesus is real but they just “aren’t ready yet” to live for Jesus. What if you die tomorrow? What if you die while reading this blog? What if you die 5 minutes from now? You don’t know when you will die so don’t wait to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and live 100% your life for him. A great evangelist once said, “If you are 99% sure you are saved then you are 100% lost”. Life is much too short to live for today, for tomorrow or for that boyfriend or girlfriend that is your world. Your daddy, momma, brother, sister, grandfather, grandmother, aunt, uncle, friend, boyfriend or girlfriend can’t get you into heaven. This is between Jesus Christ and you so ignore the world for one moment and please please please take a moment and search your heart and mind and find the one person who died for you, who loves you more than anyone else on earth and who is the only person who can complete you. If you are angry with GOD - is it because of something you failed to do or is it because you think you are smarter than your creator? There is a reason and a purpose for everything. While we might not agree with everything that happens in our lives we HAVE to trust God completely. He knows the reason and the greater purpose. So let go of your anger and let JESUS CHRIST fill your life. If you need someone to pray for you or need to talk to anyone, please feel free to get up with me. I won’t pray FOR you but I will pray WITH you. God Bless!
Ephesians 3:11-21
11According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: 12In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. 13Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory. 14For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; 17That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. 20Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, 21Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
This is one of my favorite songs by Third Day, it’s called Cry out to Jesus.
To everyone who's lost someone they love
Long before it was their time
You feel like the days you had were not enough
when you said goodbye
And to all of the people with burdens and pains
Keeping you back from your life
You believe that there's nothing and there is no one
Who can make it right
There is hope for the helpless
Rest for the weary
Love for the broken heart
There is grace and forgiveness
Mercy and healing
He'll meet you wherever you are
Cry out to Jesus, Cry out to Jesus
For the marriage that's struggling just to hang on
They lost all of their faith and love
They've done all they can to make it right again
Still it's not enough
For the ones who can't break the addictions and chains
You try to give up but you come back again
Just remember that you're not alone in your shame
And your suffering
There is hope for the helpless
Rest for the weary
Love for the broken heart
There is grace and forgiveness
Mercy and healing
He'll meet you wherever you are
Cry out to Jesus, Cry out to Jesus
When your lonely (when you're lonely)
And it feels like the whole world is falling on you
You just reach out, you just cry out to Jesus
Cry to Jesus
To the widow who suffers from being alone
Wiping the tears from her eyes
For the children around the world without a home
Say a prayer tonight
There is hope for the helpless
Rest for the weary
Love for the broken heart
There is grace and forgiveness
Mercy and healing
He'll meet you wherever you are
Cry out to Jesus, Cry out to Jesus
Here is another part of a song that I like to listen to because it reminds me JESUS CHRIST is my strength, my hope, my deliverer and Saviour!
So Father, give me the strength
To be everything I'm called to be
Father, show me the way
To lead them
Won't You lead me?
To lead them with strong hands
To stand up when they can't
Don't want to leave them hungry for love,
Chasing things that I could give up
I'll show them I'm willing to fight
And give them the best of my life
So we can call this our home
Lead me, 'cause I can't do this alone
Father, lead me, 'cause I can't do this alone
