Hey Everyone :) This month has been interesting. I left Niamey on July 12th and didn't return until July 22nd. Jordan and I went to live with some other missionaries in Oallum (which is about 2 hrs north of Niamey). While I was there I learned alot about the village and the people of the village. I had a hard time during my time in Oallum and had to seek God in order to know how to handle a particular situation. The other thing God told me was "humble". Humility is something I am not good at, I take pride in my work and I work hard in order to do a good job. I found I Peter helps alot with how to learn humility and also talks about being proud of trials in our christian walk. I love that book. When Jordan and I returned to Niamey we met our future supervisors the Sustars (which I had already met during my 1st week in Niamey) and had a team meeting to discuss lots of things and different ministry options for Jordan and me. On July 26th I went to Sahel Academy and spoke

Thoughts on a hot night.....

Jordan (another volunteer) and I have been having Zarma language class from 8am - 12pm every day since Monday.  20 hours Zarma has been tiring but much needed for my ministry. I leave for Oallum on Monday and will be there for 10 days. Keep me in your prayers. The devil has been knocking me down and I have had to kick my own butt and get back up. It's hard to be away from my family and husband. I recognized this attack from the devil (loneliness, sadness) and I got my Bible out and just prayed and prayed for strength. I know what I have to do and I won't let the devil try to bring me down and stop me from doing it. God will give us strength any time but we have to be willing to ask for it and accept it when he gives it to us. If you don't ask your mom for something is she going to give it to you? No....God knows what we need but we also need to humble ourselves before his mighty throne and be willing to ask for it. I have been reading Psalms and David always asked for the

Update from Kollo, Sorry it has been awhile since I last updated. I have only had slow dialup the past week. I have been out in Kollo at the medical clinic which is owned by the company Humidica which is based out of Germany. The clinic is named Hosanna. I saw a lot of diseases in kollo I would have never seen in the USA such as leprosy, severe malnutrition and about 60 or more cases of Malaria. The interesting thing about Malaria is that I couldn’t tell which infants or child had it and which didn’t until the blood test came back either positive or negative. I had a really nice German doctor named Andrea who taught me a lot about the health care at the clinic. It is totally different than anything in the USA. I feel lost and don’t feel like I have had enough school to prepare me for anything like this. But I feel like I am exactly where I need to be. I had one lady hand her child to me and told me I could raise it until she was older. I fell in love with this baby so tiny and so
