I joined a gym and received a free trainer session with it. To be honest, I love my kids but I just need some quiet me time and the gym has childcare and a sauna ;) Back to the story Trainer guy: how active are you? My 2-year-old daughter is a super overachiever. She has already learned how to ride her tricycle and chase after her brother and sisters. However, she gets stuck on the grass. She tries to push with all her might to go forward, when that doesn't work she goes backwards then tries again. Still stuck, she then gets mad and then starts pulling her tricycle across the grass. I ask her does she want help and she says no mama I got it. We made it about half way across the field, her brother and sisters already at the playground, and she was struggling with her tricycle to get to them. It was heavy for her to pull that far, but she tried her best but was worn out. "Elia, can mommy carry your bike?" This past weekend, I went to my dad's house. His basement room is amazing, not a window in it and it is pitch black. You can sleep for hours, when you wake up you have no clue what time it is, how long you have been asleep or if it is raining or sunshine outside. I can never sleep with sunlight in my face or a light on in my room but in that dark room and I can sleep good. I always know when to get up because my dad wakes me up by opening the door and light floods the room, he calls my name or I hear him walking upstairs. Then I wake up, get up and go see what the day is like outside of the dark room. Spiritually, are you asleep or awake? Has God opened your eyes to your sins and you are still trying to stay "asleep" in the dark and ignore them? You can't run from God. God has created each person for a reason and a purpose. This am we went to tampa area for church. During kids church, my son painted some pictures and my daughters received coins. After church I put them all on my dash, the pictures still needed to dry because they were still wet. We turned the corner and the pictures and coins all started to go on top of each other so i reached up to grab them and ended up running over a mailbox   :( . Totally not like me at all to run over something and I am so embarrassed. Tonight we just got hom e after residency class and I pull out the pictures and ask Kai what he painted. Mom, it is david and goliath. Moral of the story: David and Goliath can't blend together. Either you are a David ready to fight for God or you are a bully fighting for the enemy. You cant fight for both sides. Don't think you can blend in. As a child of God you are a light, and light isnt hidden in darkness. Some of you need to deal with the Goliath in your life and stop hiding from him. Stand up and fight

Who am I? I am nobody, formed and chosen by God for a purpose and a plan. People may disown me, but God adopted me. People may make me cry, but God catches my tears. People may make me feel crazy, but God says I have given you a sound mind. People may grade me on my performance, but God says you can never be good enough so I sent my only Son to die for you. Some of us know we are different. You know that God created you for more than the life you are living. That you are different for a reason and a purpose. God designed you for more. (This isnt meant for that person who is currently laying up with your sin, God didnt call you to that situation). Dont blend with the world when you were created to be a spiritual puzzle piece. People think you are crazy, and that is ok. The world doesnt understsnd spiritual things. We dont understand God's ways but that doesnt matter. Trust the one who designed the overall picture. You are a needed piece and you have a job to do. Listen, read, pray, repeat.

Today I was blessed to be able to help a little with an amazing outreach. To the person that receives this box: I closed my eyes and I packed this box like I would use it and I thought of you. Every supply, I imagined you using on a brokenhearted and hurt person. Last night I played Shark Evolution on my firestick, ate a whole sleeve of Oreos with milk and enjoyed my fat kid life. This am I felt bad, had no energy and my bloated belly hated my late night oreo choice. Tonight I thought of a Freddie Kruger alligator chasing me or a giant anaconda and I went for a night run without the kids (Mike had them). I turned on FTF album and I ran my heart out for the first 0.3 mile....then i felt like laying the grass and passing out. Ok, so if you are an animal lover do not read this post. I had an armadillo that I saw in the yard a few months ago, needless to say I ran after it but didn't catch it, although I don't know what I would have done if I did catch it. Anyways, an armadillo decided to dig a hole by my moms porch steps, not good right? So thanks to a nice couple Jim & Peg, I was able to borrow a live trap and put it out, to try to catch it. Now my grandmother told me that armadillo's can't survive in the heat, so if I caught it in the am, that it would die in the trap. I put the trap out that night and sometime the next day while at church I caught the armadillo. I came home, checked the trap and I remembered my grandmother's saying, he looked dead I mean his tongue was hanging out. Great now I don't have to kill it, so I move the trap, that thing comes alive and goes cray cray. I scream like a 14 yr old girl and needless to say it wasn't very "hunter like". So I

A few weeks ago, my beautiful friend, Debbie Bond, tagged me in a post about "Around the World" that was going on at Refuge Church Opp Campus from July 16-18. As soon as I saw the post, I knew I was suppose to stay for it but I had already bought plane tickets to fly back for July 16th for me and all 4 kids but when God tells you stay, you listen. This morning the kids and I started decorating the fellowship hall with some of my Africa dresses, my "child carrying clothe" from Africa, and some colored pictures of kids from Around the World. I planned on coming back home and taking showers before going back to church so I didn't pack anything. However, the day flew by and before I knew it, it was 5:45 and VBS started at 6. So my kids love The Nutcracker and The Fourth Realm, they love to sing and dance. But one place of the movie really got me thinking. When the villianess said "The soldiers will respond exactly how I tell them". She used fake tin toy soldiers and didnt use real men soldiers. They were like the tinman on The Wizard of Oz, no heart but just walking through this life until they were rusted from this world. God needs Soldiers in His Army but they have to give Him their whole heart and follow Him. Otherwise they are following whoever makes them feel alive at the moment. They follow their desires and not what God wants. They become rusted, useless and lost on their path. Satan is rejoicing at their ineffectiveness in God's army. He has rendered them useless. The laundrymat is an interesting place. You meet all sorts of people. They are always rushing in or out or they sit totally bored for an hr until their clothes are done. This new place we are at is even more interesting. It doesn't use quarters but tokens. You pay $10 and get enough to wash 3 loads of clothes and 3 loads in the dryer. You dont get to set the time on the dryer so you just have to wait and see if your clothes are too hot or still wet. There are signs saying don't use counterfeit coins because it is a crime to steal.  So let's look at this from a Christian perspective. In this world, you have many people trying to sell you something. Some are selling things that aren't good and will break in a few days, weeks or months. Yesterday it was pouring rain and we were on the interstate. There was a bad wreck, and I just told the kids not to look, I felt certain someone didn't make it. I was sad and wondering if they knew Jesus, when Kai started yelling from His carseat. Mom look up, I see Jesus in that cloud. I looked and despite all the wind and pouring rain and in the midst of storm clouds there was an opening and light shining through. Jesus shining through the darkness. Always Jesus. Always there despite all the evil and sad things going on around us. And it took my 5yr old son to tell me to look up and see Jesus in the clouds. Broken, hurt person, don't lose hope. Look up. God is your healer. Tired and weary soldier, keep pressing on and forward and look up for God is your strength. Angry person, stop and look up. God is your peace. Lost and confused? Titles. So many people work hard to obtain them. They make you feel accomplished and proud. I mean I get it, I'm a CEO of not one but two successful companies. And I give God all the glory right now because they are His companies and not mine. I just have a title that the IRS likes to receive money from each year. Whatever your title,  you are held accountable for the responsibilities of it. You work hard and earn money for your work. You get perks and benefits, paid vacations, etc. And you get a pat on the back and party for your advancement up the corporate ladder. Nothing wrong with that at all, but you know me I like analogies so here we go. What title does Satan see when he looks at you? Does he see the titles of: my bitter, angry and hurting weed, my deceptive narrator of an oasis of peace and hope, or the sneaky fox that helps lead others astray from the right path? A walk to the altar at invitation is done by one of two people. A broken man or woman who has entangled themselves with the sins of this world and is desperately seeking help or a Christian who has turned away from their path and gotten distracted by sin. Sin is the one thing that separates us from God. If we have sin and don't repent of our sins, we can not have a relationship with Jesus. If Satan can get you off the path that God has placed you on, then he will try every weakness you have and tempt you. You may go down to the altar, a weak broken sinner but once you confess your sins and ask forgiveness. Guess what? Just like a man who kneels to become a knight, when you rise up, you are a soldier in the army of God. Kneel down and rise up saints of God. Have you ever tried to run up a flight of stairs? If you are in good shape then it could be easier but you will still have hard parts. If you are out of shape, you may feel like passing out or turning back. Either way, you are either prepared to press on or you give up. Our spiritual walk is like stairs. Lord Willing, we are all going up towards Jesus. Some people are spiritually strong and can keep going. They are strong because they are reading their Bible, praying without ceasing and have a relationship with the One who gives them their strength. There are other people who put on an outward healthy appearance but when they start getting on steeper steps they stop and turn around. You will know a person by their fruits. And then there are the people who start at the bottom, go up a few steps and then stop to rest and they get stay there, eventually causing others to stop and stay there too. Don't be a part of a crowd, be an encouraging leader, that pushes others toward Jesus.  W

Wow, what a crazy month! I've been in and out of the hospital with painful stomach problems. Still no clear answers but Lord willing I will find out something soon. But do you know how wearing every day pain can be? It wears you down not just physically but also emotionally. I turn into Mr. Grinch. I dont want to see anybody and have to put on a fake appearance. I want to be alone. Thank God the pain has eased up the last week. In our Christian walk with God we will have painful areas. There may be no answers for your pain. There may not be a clear solution. People are going to hurt you, and more than likely it is people who are close to you. They know what button to push to cause a response or pain. Hurting people bleed their hurt on others. Don't be a transmitter of pain or hurt. Take your pain to the cross and lay it at Jesus' feet. He knows emotional and physical pain, he knows emotional and physical hurt, and he knows what it feels like to be rejected by the ones who

If you are from the South you know how annoying it is to be walking around a field and all the sudden be engulfed by cockaburrs. They latch on tight and hurt to remove but if you leave them in, it hurts worse. You have to take a little pain to get the true issue resolved. Sin is like a cockaburr. You can be walking in your spiritual life and then all the sudden find yourself ensnared. The devil is good at disguises. That pretty field of worldly things is deceitful. It has tons of cockaburrs that latch on to your feet or helm of your garment. Last I checked in the Bible, if you are going to latch onto a helm, it had better be the helm of Jesus garment. This week in school we are doing science experiments on fossils. It has been fun and a learning experience even for me. Btw if using plaster of Paris do NOT half way submerge the object you are molding, otherwise you will become a real paleontologist and have to dig it out. But of course I look at everything as a potential Biblical learning experiment. Dinosaurs roamed the earth years ago but  they weren't admired or wanted. They were feared and unwanted. It wasn't until their death and many many years later that they are now admired and desired by thousands of kids everywhere. That mean T-Rex is my son's favorite. Those tiny lil arms make it look ridiculous to me but they are super cool to him. My son talks nonstop about dinosaurs. I wonder if they were around now, would He admire them? No, probably not. Spiritually, we are all dinosaurs roaming the earth. We are all the norm right now. Some of us stand out, others hide in fear, and others just are fighting to survive. W
