The Dark Room - 12/7/19

This past weekend, I went to my dad's house. His basement room is amazing, not a window in it and it is pitch black. You can sleep for hours, when you wake up you have no clue what time it is, how long you have been asleep or if it is raining or sunshine outside. I can never sleep with sunlight in my face or a light on in my room but in that dark room and I can sleep good. I always know when to get up because my dad wakes me up by opening the door and light floods the room, he calls my name or I hear him walking upstairs. Then I wake up, get up and go see what the day is like outside of the dark room.

Spiritually, are you asleep or awake? Has God opened your eyes to your sins and you are still trying to stay "asleep" in the dark and ignore them? You can't run from God. God has created each person for a reason and a purpose. You have a calling on your life, why are you sleeping in your sin? You can pretend to be clueless about your sin, but if you are a Christian, then the Holy Spirit has already convicted you of your sin and you are ignoring it. If you are being convicted and don't repent, then you have created your sin to be an idol. It is something that you value more than your relationship with God; you have elevated it above HIM. Wake up, stop now, repent and seek God! Christians if you have friends, who are sinning, go to them, humbly and talk to them! Don't ignore the sin! If someone was drowning would you try to save them or snap pictures of them drowning? A problem with this world is there are too many picture taking Christians, who judge and wanted to show the world other people's issues but are not truly helping your friends with the issues! STOP. We are to encourage the believers in Christ, help them get back to Jesus and out of their sin! Not to condone it, not to encourage sin, not to compare ourselves to their sins, not to tell their sins but to HELP them.

Galatians 6:1 - Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

If not but God's grace we could all be in the same position. Humble yourselves pray and go into the darkness as a light. Shine light on their faces so that they see Jesus and not you. Call their name and humbly talk to them about their sins. Just like my dad walking wakes me up from my dark room, be the type of Christian that your walk reflect GOD and may be a light to wake up some from their sins. It is not anything we do but JESUS in us! Jesus can make the deaf hear, he can make the blind see, and he can make the lame walk, so why are you laying there pretending to be asleep in your sin? WAKE UP and RISE. GO TO JESUS!

James 4 King James Version (KJV)
x
4 From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
5 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
11 Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
12 There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?
13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
16 But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.
17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
