Tricycle - December 7, 2019

My 2-year-old daughter is a super overachiever. She has already learned how to ride her tricycle and chase after her brother and sisters. However, she gets stuck on the grass. She tries to push with all her might to go forward, when that doesn't work she goes backwards then tries again. Still stuck, she then gets mad and then starts pulling her tricycle across the grass. I ask her does she want help and she says no mama I got it. We made it about half way across the field, her brother and sisters already at the playground, and she was struggling with her tricycle to get to them. It was heavy for her to pull that far, but she tried her best but was worn out. "Elia, can mommy carry your bike?" Elia: "Pease" I picked up her bike, and she started running towards her brother and sisters.

This almost made me cry. How many times do we see Christians struggling  and trying to "keep up" with their friends and those friends don't even realize the friends is about to give up? The false impression of perfection keeps them trying to carry their burdens and keep up with others. They get worn down and worn out and either just quit and go wild or they fall away. Soon forgotten by the friends that they were running after. Don't be that type of friend. If you see someone struggling, go to them, ask to pray with them, encourage them to run the race, don't give up. Lets share our burdens with each other so we can all get to the end together. Not forgotten but united. A single chain with a crack causes the whole necklace to be useless. Each person has a specific calling on their life and because of this each person is needed in the body of Christ to function correctly. One broken chain makes the body ineffective. Pray for each other, help each other, seek God together and if you have to pick them up and drag them (metaphorically of course) then do that for awhile so we can finish the race together. In a football game, you play as a team.  A hurt player hurts the whole team, and they may lose. But today I am thankful we have got a substitute who went all in and he saved us. His name is Jesus. Follow JESUS!

Cast Your Cares on Him
5Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
6Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 8Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
