Tonight, the name Jezebel came to my mind so I started looking up Bible verses about her. Then I ended up reading James and I & 2 Peter. Then the word spirit of divination came to my mind during prayer time. I couldn't really remember much but the one verse is in the Bible so I looked it up in Acts 16:16-18 (As we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit of divination and brought her owners much gain by fortune-telling. She followed Paul and us, crying out, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to you the way of salvation.” And this she kept doing for many days. Paul, having become greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And it came out that very hour.) So this spirit literally put on a false pretense of knowing God all for a distraction. So I get my Bible again and it falls open to 1 Chronicles 10, the death of Saul. I started reading 1 Chronicles 10 and I get to verse 13 "So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the Lord, even against the word of the Lord, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it;". Ok, I went and read other versions of this verse (The Message) "Saul died in disobedience, disobedient to God. He didn’t obey God’s words. Instead of praying, he went to a witch to seek guidance." and then ESV "So Saul died for his breach of faith. He broke faith with the Lord in that he did not keep the command of the Lord, and also consulted a medium, seeking guidance". Saul went to a witch/sorcerer/medium to get answers instead of trusting in God and died because of his transgressions against the Lord and asking counsel from this sorcerer.
But what does that have to do with the spirit of divination? Well if you look at the meaning of the word divination it literally means "the practice of seeking knowledge of the future or the unknown by supernatural means." or "the practice of determining the hidden significance or cause of events, sometimes foretelling the future, by various natural, psychological, and other techniques. Found in all civilizations, both ancient and modern, it is encountered most frequently in contemporary mass society in the form of horoscopes, astrology, crystal gazing, tarot cards, and the Ouija board." The spirit of divination is also called the python spirit. the “python spirit” or the “spirit of python”—that oppresses people by interfering with the communication of the Holy Spirit and thwarting prayer. Others believe that the “python spirit” is one that gathers information about believers and uses the intel to call other demons to attack people or churches or cities. Some teach that the “spirit of python” is one that “squeezes” believers to make them feel unhappy, depressed, or overcome. Some Charismatics incorporate other names and ideas into this “python spirit,” suggesting it has four faces and has names such as Jezebel or Absalom. Beyond these are even more diverse opinions about the demon’s emphasis. Some say the “spirit of python” is expressed in greed, fear, or physical problems.

- Prophetic ministers must avoid the seducing pull of wealth, honor, prestige, and promotion.
- The elders of Moab tempted Balaam with rewards, money for divination, and money for curses.
- Idols are dangerous and deadly.
- The demonic enticements against Balaam were designed to find any idols in his heart the enemy could use to separate him from God.
- The word “perverse” means to deviate from what is considered right.
- Balaam tried to curse the Israelites by tapping into a spirit of divination, but he realized that it couldn't be done.
- Sexual sin, divination, witchcraft, and every evil thing is the fruit of Balaam's ministry.
- Spiritual divination always releases sexual sins.
- Balaam will forever be remembered as a traitor and fallen prophet

Let us go look at more - "SEDUCING SPIRITS"
Thousands of prophets have gone the way of Balaam being seduced by prestige, honor, fame, and riches. Never forget this testimony. If this can happen to Balaam, it can happen to you too. Throughout your prophetic ministry, you will be tested just like Balaam. There is no escaping the temptations. Will you make it? Here is some fatherly counsel, “Keep thy heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life” (Proverbs 4:23).
Warning: Don't fall to spirit of divination, don't seek counsel from ones God said not to go to, don't fall for traps of idolatry, money, honor, prestige, wealth, sexual sins or promotion.

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.
But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;
Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.
These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
